Parental conscious intervention to reduce children\'s watching of television would lead to a healthy upbringing, educational study said on Friday.The study was conducted by Dr. Ahmad Mohammad Al-Enezi at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) under the title of \"Children\'s Programs on Arabic Satellite Channels and their role in forming information in the Kuwaiti Child.\" The Study included analysis of children\'s programs\' contents and a field survey on some Kuwaiti children.It emphasized that explaining and exchanging views with children on the reasons of limiting or even forbidding TV viewing would lead to a \"healthy upbringing\" of children.The study called on the importance of producing children\'s TV shows and movies in proper Arabic language.It also recommended that these children\'s programs\' should be broadcast in time slots fit for children\'s viewing; preferably between the hours of 5pm to 8pm.The advantage of such time slot is to encompass as many viewers as possible and it is considerate to the kids\' bedtime schedule, especially, during school year.The study concluded by highlighting the importance of having role-model guests on children\'s shows in order to increase the kids\' perception and understanding of information. This approach will also help them embrace positive social values.
