Cairo - MENA
Prominent US writer Walter Russell held a meeting on Monday with a number of Egyptian diplomatic reporters at the headquarters of the US embassy in Cairo.
The meeting, which was attended by the embassy's spokesman Mofid Deak, tackled features of the US foreign policy and world strategy in the past and present.
Russell spoke about the US foreign policy towards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict which, he said, will not end soon due to its complications.
He voiced doubts that a two-state solution will settle most of the problems of the Palestinians.
He added that it would be difficult to persuade the Israeli public opinion to make concessions to implement the two-state solution.
He refused to comment on a court ruling dismissing charges against former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, saying that he is not familiar with laws in Egypt.
