US reporter Simon Ostrovsky was freed from captivity in eastern Ukraine, he tells dpa. Ostrovsky sais by telephone from Donetsk that he was released about 4 pm (1400 GMT). He says it is too early to speak about the circumstance of his release. Ostrovsky was detained Monday with four other journalists in Sloviansk, a city held by pro-Russian separatists. The four otherdetainees were released Tuesday.
