Beijing - Yonhap
The social-media accounts run by the South Korean Embassy in China have attracted more than 1 million followers altogether, embassy officials said Friday, as Seoul seeks to bolster people-to-people ties with Beijing.
The embassy made its first foray into a popular Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo of Tencent, on Aug. 19, 2011. Since then, it has opened two separate accounts in Sina Weibo, Sina Corporation's rival spinoff, and WeChat, Tencent's mobile messaging app.
