The Greater Amman Municipality's Mayor, Aqel Biltaji, met on Monday an American press delegation from north America, headed by Christine Moore from the Jordan Tourism Board, to acquainted itself with religious and tourist sites in Jordan, in addition to studying the Kingdom's culture and history.
Biltaji said that Jordan has many religious places related to the monotheistic religions, which demonstrates the riches that the Kingdom has in terms of history which makes it an attractive destination for religious tourism.
He pointed to Jordan being a fine example of coexistence and religious tolerance, noting that the tribes of Jordan came from different races in the beginning of the last century and formed a harmonious society of about 200 thousand people. The Minister of Culture, Lana Mamkegh, said Jordanian society is characterized by values of moderation and acceptance of others, and is accommodative of diverse cultures. Thanks to its Hashemite leadership, the country has emerged as a model for peace and stability in the region.
