Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah mourned the celebrated artist Majed Sultan who succumbed to his illness earlier Thursday.
Sheikh Salman, also Chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL), said in statements to KUNA that he received the news on Sultan's demise with great sadness and sorrow.
"Kuwait has lost one its true artistic pioneers," the minister pointed out.
Sheikh Salman added that the deceased began his career as an assistant engineering in Radio Kuwait in 1962, later he shined with various artistic multi talents, including being an actor, director and a poet.
The minister pointed out that Sultan's song lyrics will remain delights the hearts and ears.
"Sultan left many quality artistic heritage art for generations to come, including directing work in Radio, television, and theater, and will remain an exceptional trademark in Kuwait multi art forms," Sheikh Salman said.
Sheikh Salman also extended his sincere condolences and sympathy to Sultan's family, and Kuwait and Gulf arts community.
