Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah has stressed the necessity of evolving the Arab media discourse to keep pace with developments on the regional and international scenes.
During a meeting with Chairman of Egypt's State Information Service (SIS) Salah-Eddin Abdelsadek, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij urged further cooperation among the Arab media institutions, investing all potential to counter challenges facing the region.
He also lauded cooperation between KUNA and the Egyptian media foundations, especially the SIS, saying it contributes to bolstering ties between the two countries for mutual benefits.
Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij noted that his meeting with Abdelsadek addressed a host of media issues, and means of activating agreements signed between KUNA and SIS.
He called for intensifying KUNA-SIS cooperation in media image, preparing regular reports and organizing media campaigns abroad.
The KUNA Chairman and Director General pointed to existing cooperation in news monitoring and coverage of major events, in addition to participating in events organized by each on regional and international issues.
Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij invited Abdelsadek to visit Kuwait.
For his part, the SUS Chairman voiced pleasure over Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij's visit which he said would contribute to bilateral media ties.
Abdelsadek emphasized the historical relations between the two countries, highlighting Kuwait's support to Egypt in the circumstances and challenges the latter is going through.
He referred to the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Higher Committee recently held in Kuwait, where several agreements, MoUs and executive programs were signed for bolstering economic, political, social, media and cultural cooperation.
Abdelsadek noted that they agreed to probe prospects of potential cooperation in Africa through SIS offices in the continent, in line with a vision of the Third Africa Arab Summit held in Kuwait in 2013.
