Amman - KUNA
A Kuwaiti media delegation met on Saturday here with its Jordanian counterpart where they discussed a wide range of issues centering on media cooperation between the two countries, officials from both sides told KUNA.
The Kuwaiti delegation's visit comes within the mutual interests of both Kuwaiti and Jordanian media personnel to get to know one another up close and to establish long-ranging ties among themselves, said Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Hamad Al-Duaij, in a statement to KUNA.
He added that cooperation of both countries on media affairs have recently taken a turn for the best and this visit by the Kuwaiti delegation is a further testimony to that.
The visit comes also upon the directives of the Kuwaiti Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah to increase contacts with the Jordanian state radio and TV establishment with the objective of exchanging expertise with it in the realm of broadcasting and producing programs, said head of the Kuwaiti delegation Mohammad Al-Awash, assistant secretary for media services at the ministry of information.
He said what came out of today's meeting was bilateral agreement to exchange radio and TV programs and personnel visits.
The Director of Jordanian Radio and TV establishment Ramadan Ruwashda, who was present at today's meeting, told KUNA that both sides agreed to exchange literary and music-based radio and TV programs as well as to produce joint works of drama and soap operas.
He said more such agreements will materialize when a Jordanian media delegation visits Kuwait in December to attend the general assembly meetings of The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU). He praised the media cooperation between his country and Kuwait.
