Supporters of former presidential candidate Sheikh Hazem Abu Ismail continued their sit-in in front of Cairo’s Media Production City, calling for what they called a "media purge.” Protesters chanted slogans denouncing media and satellite channels, threatening to continue demonstrations until studios change their editorial policies. Demonstrators even threatened to break into Media Production City studios. The preacher Abdullah Badr made an aggressive speech against the media on Wednesday evening, calling for the kidnapping of journalist Ibrahim Eissa unless he ended his criticism of Islamists. Meanwhile security forces intensified their presence in front of Media Production City to prevent Abu Ismail supporters from storming the building or harming employees.
