Tehran - FNA
Gabriel Bruera, a senior legislator from the Argentinean Province of Buenos Aires, in a meeting with Fars News Agency Managing-Director Seyed Nezamoddin Moussavi in La Plata on Wednesday underlined that the launch of operation of FNA's regional bureau in his country plays a crucial role in the media rivalry against the imperialist powers.
Moussavi and an accompanying team of FNA managers have traveled to Argentina to inaugurate the Iranian news agency's regional bureau in Buenos Aires to cover developments and events in 18 Latin American states.
"It is necessary to confront the imperialist media and the presence of this news agency (FNA) with views opposite to the imperialist media in Argentina is important to us," Bruera said during the meeting.
"We are happy that you have travelled from Iran to Argentina and you intend to provide a news coverage to the developments in here," he added.
The Argentine lawmaker said he is familiar with the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini and his thoughts, and added, "We have been following your revolutionary moves and culture since the very beginning."
Moussavi, for his part, said that FNA intends to have interaction with independent currents of Argentina and the Latin American freedom-seekers in a bid to confront the media imperialism.
"As a friend we expect you to help us to be able to pave the way for consolidating ties between the two nations," the FNA Managing-Director said.
"We share common pains and we should not allow the third parties to interfere in our ties and we hope Fars News Agency could be a good podium in West Asia for freedom-seekers of Latin America and Argentina," he added.
Moussavi officially inaugurated FNA's regional bureau for Latin America in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Wednesday.
Iran's Charge d'Affaires in Buenos Aires Ahmadreza Kheirmand, Iranian diplomats residing in Buenos Aires, political personalities and representatives of the mass media attended the inaugural ceremony.
