US Special Envoy for International Energy Affairs Amos Hokstayn openly declared that the United States is against the construction of a new gas pipeline instead of "South Stream" for deliveries of Russian gas to Europe.

RIA Novosti quoted Greece's Minister of industrial reforms, Environment and Energy Panagiotis Lafazanis as saying that.

"The Greek government supports unconditionally the project of laying pipeline into Greek territory for Russian gas supplies," Lafazanis added.
