President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi

President Abdel Fattah al Sisi met Wednesday with Petroleum Minister Sherif Ismail and Electricity and Energy Minister Mohamed Shaker.

The meeting focused on the state's plans and the measures taken to meet the citizens' needs of electricity, fuel and natural gas before summer season.

Sisi underlined the importance of making optimal use of the available resources through the regular maintenance of power plants to increase production efficiency, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.

Sisi also underlined the need of implementing agreements as soon as possible in light of the pacts and projects which were agreed upon during Egypt Economic Development Conference in Sharm el Sheikh, added the spokesman.

The meeting further tackled ways of Rationalizing energy consumption, according to the spokesman.

Meanwhile, the electricity minister said that the ministry's plan aims to provide 3,600 megawatts during 2015.

He also pointed out to the electricity company's efforts to distribute energy saving lamps to citizens in return of taking energy-intensive lamps.

The petroleum minister, for his part, pointed out to the ministry's efforts to provide the country's needs of fuel and gas.

He also reviewed new findings and projects, which are implemented by the ministry in the various fields.
