Deputy Energy Minister Mohammad Behzad announced Monday that Iran ranked first in the Middle East region for its power generating capacity. Addressing a local gathering in this provincial city, southwest of the capital Tehran, Behzad said Iran stood at 15th place at the international ranking for its power generating capacity. He added that the total capacity of Iran’s annual power generation was 63,400 MW. Behzad added that the average rate of Iran’s power generation was 1.5 percent higher than the international average.
