The Petroleum Ministry will pump additional amounts of butane gas into the local market to overcome any shortages, ministry spokesman Hamdy Abdel Aziz said Thursday.
A 100% of additional amounts will be pumped into the market with nearly 22,000 tons expected to arrive in the next 72 hours at Alexandria Port from abroad, Abdel Aziz added.
Egypt currently imports 50% of its butane gas needs.
