Marriott has announced a new addition to its global Marriott Hotels & Resorts portfolio, the 216-room Krasnoyarsk Marriott Hotel in Krasnoyarsk, Russia. The hotel, which will be operated under a management agreement with OAO Krepost Hotel, is scheduled to open in late 2014. The 20-story Krasnoyarsk Marriott Hotel will be located just two miles north-east of the historic city center with sweeping views over the Yenisei River, which divides the city. Krasnoyarsk, a city home to roughly one million people, is the administrative capital of the expansive Krasnoyarsk Krai region, which represents 13 per cent of the country’s territory. The city is strategically placed at an important junction of the Trans-Siberian Railway. The Krasnoyarsk Marriott Hotel will be Marriott’s second hotel in Siberia, joining the recently opened Courtyard by Marriott Irkutsk. “We are excited to announce this great new addition to our portfolio and continue to grow our flagship Marriott Hotels & Resorts brand in Europe,” said Amy McPherson, president and managing director of Marriott International in Europe. “We currently operate 14 hotels in Russia and see tremendous opportunity to expand across our brands here.” The addition of the Krasnoyarsk Marriott Hotel will help meet the growing demand for high quality, flexible meeting and event space in the city, providing a large ballroom and five meeting rooms. Guests will be able to choose from four dining options including a specialty restaurant, sports bar and restaurant and sky bar offering panoramic views of the city. The hotel will also boast a dedicated health and leisure club and indoor pool. The Krasnoyarsk Marriott Hotel will feature the new, reinvented Marriott Hotels & Resorts lobby. The social center of every hotel, this versatile, multi-purpose space allows guests to meet friends and colleagues, grab a bite to eat, plug in their devices and work either in small groups or alone but still be close to the action – any time of the day or night.
