Yas Mall

As many from Saudi Arabia flock to the UAE to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr, one mall in Abu Dhabi is offering buyers sales of up to 90 percent off in a special event to mark the end of Ramadan.
Yas Mall’s unique mega sale will begin on June 25 and run until June 26, with more than 300 brands taking part.
The shopping bonanza will also feature live performances by jugglers, dancers, musicians and hourly live entertainment for visitors to enjoy.
Local residents are gearing up for the sale.
“It’s huge news. This is the biggest sale of the year and nothing will top this mega sale. I’ve already organized a schedule and I’m currently making a list of what I’d like to purchase for myself and the family on the big day. It won’t hinder any Eid plans since we’re not headed to Egypt this year, so we’ll have our own little Eid morning rituals, rest and fuel up for the big event,” Magda, an Egyptian medical resident consultant living in Abu Dhabi, told Arab News.
Many retailers are bringing in extra staff members in anticipation for the big event while some stores are planning hourly inventories to keep everything in check.
“Naturally, we would like to have everything run smoothly for the crowds. We expect the largest crowd to come within the first three or four hours of the event and it should cool down afterwards, but with the prizes that will be distributed, you never know,” a salesperson told Arab News.
Up for grabs are Etihad Airways business class tickets and the grand prize, the Tesla Model S. Gift cards ranging from 1,000 dirhams (SR1,021) to 15,000 dirhams (SR15,316) can also be won.
Yas Mall’s General Manager Saoud Khoory explained the concept behind the event, saying holiday-makers should explore what the mall has to offer.
“We strive to bring forth the best offers tourists and residents can buy; many holiday-goers head to the malls to spend their holidays and what better way to treat them than with a great sale such as our Eid Mega Sale,” he told Arab News.
Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi’s largest mall, is one of the leading retail, entertainment and leisure destinations on Yas Island and is home to more than 350 stores, a children’s play area and a 24-screen cinema.
