Paris - Al Maghrib Today
Andreas Wellinger claimed his third World Cup victory by winning in Russia on Sunday, completing a German double after Richard Freitag's Saturday success.
The 22-year-old Wellinger produced two solid efforts in the large-hill event at Nizhny Tagil to beat his compatriot into second by 4.8 points.
Freitag almost pipped Wellinger with a massive second leap of 138 metres, but it wasn't enough for a sixth World Cup win after a disappointing opening jump.
But the 26-year-old did extend his early lead in the overall standings to 31 points, with Wellinger now second ahead of Norway's Daniel-Andre Tande.
It was the first time two different German jumpers had taken consecutive World Cup wins since Freitag and Severin Freund in December 2014.
Reigning overall champion Stefan Kraft settled for his second podium finish of the season in third, 7.4 points further back.
