Facebook reported Wednesday its profit more than doubled in the past quarter as revenues climbed and the number of users of the huge social network grew.
The world's biggest social network topped estimates with a net profit of $3.6 billion on revenue of $8.6 billion, as compared with profit of $1.6 billion on $5.6 billion in revenue in the same period a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the number of people using the leading social network monthly increased 17 percent to 1.86 billion.
