Volkswagen said Thursday there was no evidence so far to suggest that the highest levels of management were involved in the global pollution-cheating scandal engulfing the embattled German carmaker.
"There is no evidence to suggest that supervisory board members or management board members are implicated," VW supervisory board chief Hans Dieter Poetsch told a news conference held to update the public on the latest developments in the investigation into the affair.
