The US trade deficit shrank in November to a nine-month low as a sharp drop in imports outpaced a decline in exports, the Commerce Department said Wednesday.
The chronically deficit US trade balance with the rest of the world fell 5.0 percent in the month to $42.4 billion, surprising analysts who had estimated it would increase. The October deficit was revised to $44.6 billion from $43.9 billion.
