Eurozone unemployment in September fell to 8.9 percent, official statistics agency Eurostat said Tuesday, the lowest jobless rate in the single currency area since January 2009.

The figure for the 19-country single currency area beats the 9.0 percent prediction made by analysts at data company Factset.
