US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday phoned his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov to discuss the state of nuclear talks between Iran and world powers, a senior State Department official said.
The official gave no comment on whether Lavrov might join Kerry and their Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif at the talks in Switzerland ahead of a Tuesday deadline to agree the outlines of a deal.
