The United Nations on Wednesday overwhelmingly condemned the US embargo against Cuba in a resolution that Washington opposed, in a break from last year's abstention that highlighted a thaw in relations.

The resolution was adopted by a vote of 191 to 2, leaving the United States and Israel as the only opposing voices in the 193-nation General Assembly.
