Suspected Islamist militants on Monday killed six Hindu pilgrims and wounded 13 others in Indian-administered Kashmir, a police source told AFP. 

"Six pilgrims have been killed in the attack and another 13 injured, some of them badly," the police officer, who was not authorised to speak officially, said. 

Thousands of Hindu pilgrims trek over mountain trails to reach a shrine in Indian Kashmir every year.
