A Palestinian was killed and nine others injured Monday when Israel blew up a tunnel stretching from the Gaza Strip into its territory, the health ministry in the Hamas-run enclave said.

Ahmed Abu Armanah died and nine others were hurt in the explosion, health ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said in a statement.

A security source said the men were members of Islamic Jihad, an Islamist group allied to Gaza's rulers Hamas.
