The death toll in a suicide bombing in eastern Damascus on Sunday rose to 18 people, a monitor said, in the bloodiest attack to hit the Syrian capital in months. 

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the dead included at least seven pro-regime security personnel and two civilians.

It had not identified the remaining victims.
