Fifty people were injured in a collision between two trains near Duesseldorf, Germany, on Tuesday night, federal police told AFP. 

The accident took place between a passenger train and a freight train in the town of Meerbusch in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany's most populous region, the Bild newspaper said on its website.
