Cairo – Mohamed Aloush
Egyptian Presidency candidate Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh came first in the poll made by the artist Nabil El-Halafawy on Twitter. El-Halafawy sent a tweet calling for all Twitter users to vote for electing a candidate, later he declared the following result: 116 voters participated, 8 votes of which were void, two votes went to Ahmed Shafik, three to Muhammad Salim Al-Awa, four votes to each of Amr Moussa, Nabil Al-Arabi and Khaled Aly, five to Hamdeen Sabahi, 21 to Hazem Abu Ismail and 61 to Abel Moneimm Aboul Fotouh. It is note worthy that among the void voices were four for Mohamed ElBaradei and the reason for the invalidity was that he had already withdrawn from running. The poll was put up rather humorously as El-Halafawy urged those who participated not to miss participation in the actual elections. He chose not to vote saying that he is the initiator and the screening committee should not vote, however, he expressed his respect to Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh and refused to declare which candidate he will vote for, saying it is too early to announce his nominee.
