Lebanese police cleared singer Melisa and her business manager Jan Saliba from adultery charges that were placed against them by Melisa’s husband Bashar Almasri, who comes from Syrian origins, submitted a complaint against his wife and her business manager accusing them of adultery (and having them arrested) on Friday, after saying that Saliba frequently visited Melisa’s flat. Melisa and her business manager were released after hearing their evidence due to a lack of evidence. Sources close to the police (shortet adab) informed ArabsToday that Melisa and Saliba were requested by the police after pretending that she wasn’t at home with Saliba when a patrol from Alashrafeye police station and the local councilor who represents the neighborhood went to Melisa’s apartment and no one opened the door for them. Police called Melisa on her mobile phone and she answered but claimed that she was in the south of Lebanon. At that stage the police broke into her apartment and arrested the couple. Bashar Almasri and Melisa have been separated for a long time and Melisa initially claimed that she had been divorced, however, Bashar proved that the divorce document Melisa has is invalid and the court has issued an order requesting Melisa to go back to her husband’s house.
