The army units, in cooperation with backing forces, carried out on Saturday military operations against Daesh terrorists in Deir Ezzor city and its eastern countryside.
The Syrian news agency (SANA) said that an army unit shelled an arms cache in the vicinity of al Ta’amin Brigade to the west of the airport, demolishing the cache as huge explosions rocked the area due to the destruction of the ammunition.
Meanwhile, the army’s air force carried out night raids on gatherings and fortification points of Daesh terrorists in the neighborhoods of Hweiqa, al Kanamat, al Aridi, al Mohandiseen area, in the surrounding of Deir Ezzor Airport, the village of Maratt and the surrounding of Koniko area in the Badiya of kesham town in the eastern countryside.
SANA said that the raids inflicted heavy losses upon the terrorists in weaponry and personnel.
According to special sources, a total of 340 terrorists were killed and three car bombs, 20 vehicles equipped with machine guns and three weapon caches were destroyed in the military operations carried out during the past few days against Daesh terrorists in the neighborhoods of al Hweiqa, al Reshdia, al Kharitta, al Sheikh Yassin, Salet Keisoum, Koniko and al Ziraa areas
