The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Sunday that fierce clashes erupted between the Syrian regime forces and the rebels in northern and central Aleppo.
According to the London-based observatory, 36 people were killed over the past hours, including 20 in the rebel-held regions in eastern Aleppo while the others were in western districts that are under the control of regime forces, Al-Hurra TV channel reported.
Earlier, four people were killed and 15 others injured in Russian and Syrian raids on the rebel-held areas in eastern Aleppo.
The attack have forced the closure of the largest Aleppo hospital.
The Syrian American Medical Society, which supports the hospital, said it had been struck by barrel bombs.
