A total of 96,397 Syrian refugees are currently taking shelter in Turkey, Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) said in a statement on Friday. There are five tent cities for Syrian refugees in Turkey's southern province of Hatay, two in Sanliurfa, three in Gaziantep and one each in Osmaniye, Kahramanmaras and Adiyaman, as well as one container city in Kilis, according to the statement. Syrian refugees in Turkey have been provided with lodging, food, health services, security, social activities, education, religious facilities and translation and communication services, AFAD said. AFAD added that more than 136,700 Syrians have entered Turkey since the outbreak of the 19-month-old conflict and that 40,312 Syrians have returned to Syria on their own volition.
