Daesh terrorist group fired mortar rockets on gas pipelies in Homs governorate in central Syria, forcing a halt of the pipelines' production, Syrian government sources said.
The all-news network Sky News quoted Syrian Electricity Minister Mohammad Zuheir Kharbotli as saying that the attack also targeted a power facility in Homs resulting in reduction in power generation by 65 percent.
Meanwhile, Oil Minister Ali Ghanem said the facility contributes with 6.6 million cubic meters of daily gas production, noting that maintenance operations are underway to resume production.
Daesh has been fighting the government troops and attacking gas pipelines since December.
