Clashes erupted Thursday morning between the Turkish police and some Syrian fighters who attempted to enter Turkey illegally, leaving at least seven Turks injured, local Today's Zaman reported. The Syrian group was waiting on the Syrian side for a long time, attempting to across the border, a move rejected by the Turkish police in the Akcakale town of Sanliurfa province. The Syrian fighters then set a Turkish police station on fire and clashed with the policemen, which injured three Turkish policemen, two soldiers and two civilians. More security forces were deployed to region to surpress the tension.
