Nine Syrian immigrants were killed and 30 others injured in a traffic accident in western Turkey on Saturday, private Dogan news agency reported.
One minibus carrying Syrian immigrants hit a retaining wall and turned over on Balikesir-Havran Highway in Havran town of Balikesir province, leaving nine Syrian immigrants dead and 30 others injured, according to the report.
Eight Syrian immigrants were killed on the scene and one injured Syrian immigrant died in hospital, said the report, adding that the injured were taken to hospitals nearby for treatment.
The Syrian immigrants are all male, heading for Turkey's neighboring Greece, said the report.
