Algeria said Saturday its military troops killed two militants belonging to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) in the northern Jijel province.
Acting on intelligence tips, the military forces conducted a combing operation in Sadet mountainous area near Sidi Abdelaziz town in Jijel, according to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense.
Two militants were killed, and two assault rifles and a large quantity of ammunition were seized during the operation, it added.
