An Iraqi army commander said Wednesday that troops are getting ready to storm the city of Fallujah.
Battles are going on now on the outskirts of al Shohadaa and al Ma'ared areas in southern Fallujah, said Col. Jomaa al Jamili in statements to the US-funded Radio Sawa.
Police troops are also advancing toward central Fallujah, said commander of operations to liberate Fallujah Abdel Wahab al Sa'adi.
He expected the city ofjah to be liberated within days.
Police troops are slowly and cautiously advancing because they fear to harm citizens and because Daesh had planted many bombs on the way, Sa'adi noted.
