Iraqi police have stopped a truck laden with old clothes in which explosive belts and devices, as well as quantities of C-4 and ammonium nitrate, were hidden.
The driver was arrested, said Saad Maan, the spokesman for the Baghdad Operations Command, Tuesday.
He had planned to deliver the explosives to Baghdad to conduct terrorist attacks in the Iraqi capital, Maan said.
A military intelligence force, meanwhile, discovered a depot that contained explosive materials. The depot belongs to the Daesh terrorist group.
Daesh has been blamed for all suicide attacks in Baghdad, home to some seven million Iraqis.
