Iraqi joint forces on Wednesday liberated a northwestern Fallujah village and destroyed a vital tunnel used by Daesh terrorists, security sources said.
Besides retaking Albu Shejel village, the forces uncovered and destructed a two-meter deep and six-kilometer long tunnel that links Anbar's Saqlawiyah city to terrorist Daesh strongholds northern Fallujah.
Destroying the tunnel, which had been used by Daesh terrorists as a hideout and way to transport weapons and militants, would deal a blow to the terrorist group after blocking links between Saqlawiyah and Fallujah, the sources added.
