Joint Iraqi forces on Friday liberated two new villages, on the fifth consecutive day of the military operation to retake Mosul, northern Iraq, from Daesh terrorist group.
The joint forces killed 15 terrorists, destroyed four car bombs and two motorcycles and seized 1.5 tons of ammonium nitrate used in producing explosive devices.
The Iraqi prime minister and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces announced on 17 October starting an operation to retake Nineveh, with its capital Mosul, with the participation of army forces, federal police, popular mobilization forces, Peshmerga and tribal fighters and US-led coalition.
