Iraqi armed forces on Monday entered al Nasr village near Ninawa in northern Iraq, where clashes erupted with Daesh militants, who were controlling the district, an Iraqi security source said.
The Iraqi Army and Popular Mobilization Forces aka Al Hashd Al Shaabi have begun military operations to regain control on the Northern province of Ninawa from Daesh on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the popular mobilization forces said that tunnels, established by Daesh militants to facilitate their movement and attacks against the Iraqi security forces and civilians, were discovered in western Samarra of the Salahuddin province.
