Chief of Mission of Iraq of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Thomas Weiss has expected said Daesh fighters may use chemical weapons in ongoing battles with Iraqi forces, that start operations to liberate the northern city of Mosul from the terrorist group's grip.
Addressing a press conference at the UN premises in Geneva on Tuesday, Weiss said evidence is here and there that Daesh tried to use some chemical arms in rocket attacks on Peshmerga troops two weeks ago.
He said IOM had started procuring gas masks because of the fear of a chemical weapons attack, but had obtained very few so far.
