Al Arabiya has obtained footage which reportedly shows an ISIS militant being targeted in an air strike after attempting to take down an Iraqi flag at a location in west Mosul.
A local source confirmed that the ISIS militant was trying to take down the flag at a location close to where Iraqi armed forces were situated when he became a target.
The video shows a pick-up truck being blown to pieces by the Iraqi air strike. Moments later, another strike (not shown in the video obtained) targeted the ISIS militant himself.
The source said that the militant’s body laid in the same location and as other ISIS militants close to the area did not approach fearing they would be targeted.
More than 500 ISIS militants have been killed in western Mosul since the start of a military operation to dislodge the group from the area began last October.
