Iraqi security forces today killed 88 militants and destroyed 12 vehicles laden with weapons in the city of Tikrit in northern Iraq.
A security source said the militants were killed at the presidential palaces area at Al-Bayazigh, Al-Ojah and Flakat Al Alam in Tikrit.
In another development, unidentified warplanes raided Al-Qaim area, west of Al-Anbar in western Iraq.
A security source said unidentified warplanes raided Al-Qaim district including two areas controlled by the so-called Daash or the Islamic State of Syria and the Levant (ISSL) but no reports were yet received on the volume of casualties.
