The Iraqi Minister of Migration and Displacement Jassim Mohamed said that the number of the displaced reached 50,000 persons since the operation of freeing Mosul started.
In a joint press conference with the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator for Iraq Lise Grande here on Monday, Mohamed said that his ministry does not have except 33 million Iraqi dinars and is waiting for funding from the Iraqi Finance Ministry.
About 1,853 persons are displaced daily, the minister reiterated, adding that the number of the displaced reached 50,000 persons since "We are coming Nineveh" operation kicked off in October 17.
The ministry is ready to receive 100,000 displaced, Mohamed underscored, noting that their number is expected to reach 500,000 persons.
Meanwhile, a team representing the Iraqi Trade Ministry held meetings with the members of the local government in Nineveh to provide residents of freed areas from the control of Daesh terrorist group with foodstuff.
