A car bomb detonated in western Iraq Monday killed at least two people and eight others, officials said. The car bombing took place in Suq al-Maash of western Mosul, IraqNews.com reported. "The car bomb, which was parking near Maash local market of western Mosul, exploded targeting a security force of the Federal Police," a security official said. "The death toll of the car bombing that targeted the Suq al-Maash of western Mosul rose up to killing two Federal Police elements and injuring six persons and two children," another security official said. It was initially reported that one person was killed and four others were injured, IraqNews.com said. No other details on the incident were reported.
