Three Libyan soldiers were killed and four seriously wounded in a suicide attack on a roadside checkpoint west of Benghazi in eastern Libya, an army commander said on Tuesday.
The attack targeted the security gate of Sidi Abdul-Ati region on the coastal road between Benghazi and Ajdabiya, commander Hamza Al-Fakhri said in a press statement.
He added that the checkpoint, set by a battalion of special forces and shock troops, was targeted during a routine inspection as the attacker detonated an explosive-laden car.
The checkpoint was targeted late in October, but luckily claiming no lives then as a bomb car was detonated several meters from the gate.
