At least 13 suspected militants were killed on Monday in a security operation southern Karachi city of Pakistan, said police.
Senior police official Rao Anwar told reporters that police raided in Sohrab Goth locality of the city, where security forces faced resistance from terrorists, and later both sides engaged in an exchange of fire.
He further said that the militants were affiliated with outfits involved in militants' activities, noting that some of the men were wearing uniforms of law enforcement agencies. Police also recovered large cache of arms and suicide jackets from the militants.
The security forces are carrying operations against militants in different areas after a brutal attack on an army-run school in Peshawar city resulted in the killing of at least 148 people, including 132 children.
