At least one security personnel was killed and three others were wounded due to a mine explosion in Bannu district of northern Pakistani province Khyber Pakhtunkhwah on Friday. According to security officials, a vehicle of Bomb Disposal Squad heading the convoy of the security forces struck the mine killing one security personnel and injuring three others. The wounded were shifted to the nearby Bannu military hospital. Security forces cordoned off the scene and carried out a search operation immediately after the explosion. Suspected militants also blew up a girl's primary school in Bannu area by planting explosives, but no causalities occurred. However, the building of the school was badly damaged.
