The San Francisco Giants payed tribute to the late Robin Williams Sunday and invited his three children and close friend Billy Crystal to throw the first pitch before Game 5 of baseball's World Series.
Williams' eldest son Zak threw the first pitch of the game to Crystal to commemorate the former San Francisco resident. Williams' daughter, Zelda, shared a photo of the moment on Instagram and wrote:
"Thank you @SFGiants for honoring our dad and letting my older brother @Zakpym throw out the first pitch. Without you guys, I wouldn't have my new favorite picture ever. Ever ever. #PureJoy."
Williams' children Zak, 31, Zelda, 25 and Cody, 22, all wore Giants jerseys with their name for the occasion and according to the Hollywood Reporter, they released a statement thanking the team for the opportunity to honor their father.
"We are honored to be here in tribute to our father, someone who loved his hometown and especially the Giants," the siblings said in a statement. "For all of us, it is a tremendous delight and a little surreal to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of a World Series game for our team to our dad's best friend."
The trio added they "could not think of a better way to celebrate his memory."
Williams died of suicide by asphyxiation at age 63 on Aug. 11. His ashes were reportedly scattered over the San Francisco Bay one day after his death.
The Giants previously honored Williams during a regular-season game on Aug. 12, a day after his death. Similarly, Crystal previously paid tribute to his late best friend at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards on Aug. 25.
